Windrush Years – Next Generation 2018

Images from the recreation of an exhibition of a typical West Indian/Caribbean ‘Front Room/Living Room’ of the 1950s & 1960s, at the Museum of Oxford on Saturday 6th October 2018, celebrating of the 70th anniversary of the SS. Empire Windrush’s anchoring at Tilbury Docks, Essex, bringing 802 West Indians/Caribbeans to Britain. The significance of the generation that arrived on that voyage and their contributions to Britain’s, economic, political, social and cultural landscape.
